The PMI Frankfurt Chapter e.V. (PMIFC) is a non-profit association that has been independently founded and focuses on the field of project management. The chapter was founded in 1988 as the first European chapter, and our members come from different parts of Germany. In addition to activities in the Frankfurt area, the chapter organizes regular meetings and local groups e.g. in Hanover or Hamburg.

Vision and goals

We offer a forum in which project management professionals can exchange views, share their experiences and discuss topics around project management. We strive to build a respectful, collegial and friendly environment for all members of the chapter.

Chapter’s organization

According to the association’s bylaws, the Frankfurt Chapter Board is partly elected every year. Starting 30 November 2015, the term of office is 1 year for 4 offices and 2 years for 5 offices. In November 2016, the 4 one-year offices will then be elected for a two-year term. This means that elections are held every year without the entire board having to be re-elected. The Board of Directors consists of 9 members. The management board team is supported by volunteers who coordinate the numerous regional activities as well as other volunteers who support directly in the individual departments.

It is not always possible to take advantage of the national offer. Therefore, the PMI Frankfurt Chapter offers the opportunity to participate and exchange ideas in local groups’ events and regular meetings. More information and contacts with local groups such as Hamburg, Hanover, Heidelberg, Main-Franconia, Rhine-Main or Saarbrucken can be found Here.

Special events

In addition to our regular meetings and chapter meetings, we offer our members and friends the opportunity to participate in the following events

  • PDU workshops on various topics
  • PMIFC offsite - In collaboration with companies in the Rhine-Main region
  • Our dinner meeting at the end of the year – A jovial get-together for the exchange of ideas about project management and our chapter activities

Supporting chapter’s activities

PMI promotes volunteering work in the chapters to support the part-time and non-paid work of the management boards. Therefore, the chapter occasionally asks its members for support if the management board is planning a special project. Those interested in providing such support (ideally with a topic proposal) can also contact a member of the management board. Volunteer work is rewarded with PDUs.
